Before and After: Project Classic Living {The Living Room}

May 3, 2016 by Amber Filed Under: #projectclassicliving, amber b design, before and after, design, interior design, living room, local clients 5 Comments

As promised from last week’s posts, I am now ready to show the before pictures of the living room from Project Classic Living, as well as some new after photos! It’s always fun to show how a space began, so we can appreciate how far we have come. The before pictures are taken by myself and the really pretty after photos are all from the very talented Sarah Heppell. For the living room, they wanted a light, neutral space that was a blend of traditional and modern, while also working with the character of the home. Here we go!

We really wanted to try out a sectional in this room. We were so thrilled when we found one that was a perfect fit! We lightened the walls, added new furniture and accessories and were able to keep some existing key pieces. We kept the beautiful media cabinet, mirror and wall frames.

{This is the mirror, above, that we kept. It was on their mantel. We just changed the orientation and hung it vertically.}

    Genius is all I can say. I can imagine the two separate seating areas being perfect when you have a gathering. Places to have more than one conversation. Who would have done this but you Amber! Love the two ottoman’s which just add more seating to be pulled into the main living room. But when it’s just the family the sectional is so cozy. The paint color just breathed a fresh feeling into the room. The lighting and artwork are perfect! The pops of color – LOVE! WOW – what a great job. I love every space you have done in this home!

      Thank you so much! The seating plan was fun to sort out. I love that we have different areas, but they can come together when needed. Thank you so much for your kind words!! 🙂

    great job Amber! The lighter palette brings a breath of fresh air to the room and the sectional cozies up gatherings in front of the fire. Nice accents of color…all in the details!

Now that the ladder has been relocated to the family room, this corner is definitely in need of some height. I almost went with the idea of a tree and while I love it in other homes, I just didn’t see it here. So I went on Pinterest in search of inspiration and @studiomcgee to the rescue! I love the idea of a pedestal with a vase and maybe some branches, instead of a tree. I can switch up the accessories on the pedestal and I think it’s the winner! Inspiration in the next slide. #amberbdesignathome #coastalliving

This year, we had it to the left of the television and I really feel like that space is now so empty. I tried the living room ladder in its place and I love it! But the living room needs it there too. What to do?! Maybe a tall plant in one of the spaces?! Two ladders within feet of each other?! 😂 #amberbdesignathome #coastalliving #howyouhome #SMmakelifebeautiful #loveyourhabitat #bhghome
