E-Design Before and After {A Client’s Gallery Wall}

July 23, 2014 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, e-decorating, e-design, gallery walls, interior design, living room

You may have read some of my previous posts about my love for gallery walls… especially asymmetrical layouts around a television. Not only does it allow you to bring in color and pattern to a space, it’s also a great trick of the eye to help conceal the TV. One of my wonderful e-design clients recently completed an arrangement on her media wall and I can’t wait to show you the impact it made! Here is the before picture of the television wall…

Before…

Here is the design plan I came up with for the whole space…

And here is the media wall mock up I made for the gallery wall…

We incorporated her taxidermy art and her lamp, but added some fun new art pieces and a hint of brass in the mirrors. Here is the after…

After

I am so proud of the progress she has made!! You can even see a glimpse into her foyer on the left, with the gorgeous wall stencil. The boot umbrella stand, shown on the right side of the last picture, will go in the foyer. She is almost finished with the spaces, so there will be another reveal coming in the future. Thank you so much to my amazing client for allowing me to share these pictures here. She always has the sweetest things to say and it has been my pleasure helping her enjoy her spaces that much more! We also recently wrapped up her kitchen and dining space, so more designs to show, soon.

Before and After Updates {A Client’s Living Room}

July 16, 2014 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, design, e-decorating, e-design, interior design, personal design style

I have some wonderful updates of a client project to show you today! A little while back, an e-design client contacted me to help bring a more eclectic, bohemian style to her living room. This space is directly off of the foyer and is the space they gather when entertaining and spending time with their family. We kept some of her current furniture pieces and accessories, but added many new pieces to finish the look. I showed you the design plan a few posts back, but here is a refresher..

The Design Plan

Here is her reading nook {the top left corner of the room} before…

And here is the after…

I love the new light wall color and the way her chair and bookcase fit into the design plan. The corner gallery wall is fun for a space like this. It adds depth to this side of the room, giving the illusion of more space. The woven ottoman adds interesting texture and is a great way to break up all of the upholstery pieces seen in the seating.

She also made progress on the fireplace mantel. Here is the before…

And here is the after…

The mirror and waterscape vases bring a more eclectic, unique vibe to the room, which was exactly what she was looking for. The room had great bones, but it was more traditional in style than she wanted. We removed the oversized chairs and replaced them with more streamlined, modern seating. I can’t wait to show you more progress to come!

Thanks to my amazing client for allowing me to share these sneak peeks and her great progress!

The Foyer is Almost Done… You’ve Gotta See This!

July 3, 2014 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, e-decorating, e-design, foyer, interior design, personal design style

I am so thrilled to show you this {almost} reveal, that I couldn’t wait until all of the pieces were in place. My client and blog friend, Anne, moved into her newly built home and is doing a fabulous job making it her own. The finishes and pieces she has chosen so far have made this house an incredible work of art. She contacted me to help her put finishing touches on the foyer, dining room and living room. I originally wrote about the foyer here, but let’s re cap…

Here is Anne’s foyer before…

Stunning, right?!? Here is the design plan I came up with to add a touch of modern glamour to the space and complete the look…

And here is the {almost} reveal of the foyer…

That stencil is seriously everything!! Anne did an amazing job with that project. It adds fun texture and pattern to the space and is a great way to introduce the home’s style as you enter through the front door. The Beach print from Furbish brings together the home’s color palette and is a whimsical accessory to the foyer. Here is a close up of the amazing print…

Sandwiches on the Beach
We will still add a couple of accessories and an ottoman for putting on/taking off shoes. But I just had to show you the progress. Amazing job, Anne! Thanks for letting me share your gorgeous space!

Before and {Almost} After – A Client’s Master Bedroom

June 1, 2014 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, e-decorating, e-design, interior design

I am so thrilled to share with you the progress of my e-design client’s master bedroom. When she came to me, she was looking to start fresh, with a completely new space and design concept. She was looking for a more modern master bedroom that was serene and relaxing… a space that feels warm and inviting! She also wanted to incorporate purple, green and gold as accents. Here is the space before…

Before

Here is the design board and floor plan rendering I came up with…

The Plan

My super amazing client got to work right away, adding color, warmth and bringing the plan into action!

Progress

Inspiring, right? She is doing a fabulous job with this room! It’s hard to believe it’s the same space. There are still some key furniture pieces going into the room, like a gray desk for the left side of the bed, a patterned chair for the seating area and the addition of a TV/Dresser zone, which will go opposite the bed. The tabletops will also get new accessories to help make the space feel cohesive and finished. All of those elements will bring more color and pattern to the space, helping to ground the dark bed in the room. There is nothing more warm for a master bedroom than adding an upholstered bed. This charcoal linen fabric with the wing back design and nailhead trim makes me so happy! There are so many other light and neutral elements in the room, that this dark bed anchors the space and pops against the new light wall color. I also love how the chandelier looks in the space! There was a ceiling fan there before and this new lighting makes the room, in my opinion! The four art pieces shown directly above, will go around the television, making the TV act as part of the art. Here is the style board I designed for the presentation, to show my client where everything in this zone will be placed…

Media Style Board

I cannot wait to show you the room when it’s finished. Great job to my client for all of her tremendous work! Also, thank you to her for allowing me to share these progress photos. ๐Ÿ™‚

E – Design Client Sneak Peek {Before and After}

March 12, 2014 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, design, e-decorating, e-design

I am so excited to show you this before and after today! My client has worked very hard to finish up on the rooms I have designed. Today, I am able to show you an amazing sneak peek of the living room. When my client hired me, she was looking for a complete change in her space. She wanted a start fresh on all of the seating and an overall relaxed, coastal/traditional/vintage inspired vibe. This design was aptly named #projectfarmhousechic. This is the space when we started…

The only item staying in the room was the television. We also kept the wall color, which is a soft, pretty gray. Here are the design boards I came up with…

The Plan

The Media Gallery Wall

I am over the moon excited to share the progress so far…

Sneak Peek

Yay to my amazing client!! I love that you can see the media gallery wall through the mirror. She did such a wonderful job on the plates/mirror installation above the sofa and I love how the pillow combination came together. Originally, we were going to go with the CWD Greige Deco pillows, but my client really started to love the way blue was entering the room. So, we made the switch to the Navy Deco and I couldn’t be more thrilled. There is so much more going on in this room and I can’t wait to post more about this design! Thanks so much to my client for allowing me to share her living room with all of you!

{E-Design Before and After} The Home’s Exterior

October 23, 2013 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, design, e-decorating, e-design

When I receive after photos from a client, I get all giddy inside! These before and afters are amazing, since the homeowners did a wonderful job putting the plan into action. This was a new one for me, since it was the first time working on the client’s exterior of the home. I was excited and ready for the challenge! Here are the before shots of their home…

Before

The clients were deciding whether or not to paint the brick. I loved the idea and showed them some options, but we also considered waiting a while and just working on new accent colors, landscaping and some accessories. My clients ended up staying with the brick as is, which worked out great! Here is the plan I came up with…

The Design Plan

With some design boards, a picture speaks louder than words. When my blog friend Jane posted about her friend’s house that was for sale, I knew this would be the perfect inspiration for my client’s home. The image I am referring to is on the top right corner of the design board. You should also check out the rest of the post… great before and afters!! The landscaping and welcoming feel were just right and conveyed what we were trying to achieve in this project. And here are the amazing afters…

After

They did a fabulous job! New paint and a few key accessories truly can take a space to the next level. I am so proud of them for their hard work and executing the plan so well. A special thanks to my clients for allowing me to share these photos with you!  ๐Ÿ™‚

I am happy to announce that I am featured on the Anthology House blog today, in a customer spotlight post. Amy and Alyse run the amazing etsy shop, Anthology House and they are featuring my design business today. They are my sponsors and friends and I would love for you to stop by and say hello!

The New Knobs Are On!

June 27, 2013 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, design, family room, personal design style

I was determined (as stated in my last post) to go and find new knobs for our coffee table drawers. Since I like the finish of the table, I decided to just make a small change by adding decorative glass looking knobs. We have pops of green throughout the space, so a pretty green knob was a good choice for this space. Here is where we started…

Before

And here are the new knobs…

After

I found them at Target for $14.99 for a 4 pack! That’s a very small commitment, so I can always change it up when I am looking for a new color scheme. This last picture shows how the green is pulled from the suzani pillow in the background. I like to find the small hints of color from a fabric and pull out accessory colors from that. It’s less obvious and makes for a fun, unexpected color palette. It also draws your eye more to that little hint of color that you might not have seen otherwise.

Any small changes around your home???

{Before and After} E-Design Gallery Wall

April 19, 2013 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, design, e-decorating, e-design, gallery walls

I have really been in the before and after mood when it comes to my recent posts. I think we all love to see how a space can come together, especially when you’re able to see where it began. My client wanted to add some modern elements to her beautifully finished basement. She already had the television and most furniture pieces, but wanted to make the space truly complete.

Before

When I saw her TV wall, I immediately thought of surrounding it with a symmetrical gallery wall of framed art. Here are the inspiration images I used…

Inspiration

My client did an amazing job hanging this symmetrical gallery wall. I love great symmetry! Here are the afters…

After

The new bench can be pulled out for additional seating when needed and also helps fill this space when not in use. The framed botanical prints are actually from a wonderful coffee table book. I suggested that she use the prints she liked best and that best matched the color scheme for the room. Over time, this gallery wall can also continue to grow with more botanical prints and make the art extend towards the floor. I think the new art wall does a great job taking your eye away from the built in wall speakers. My client is so happy with the results and glad that she hung the gallery wall. I am so happy that it worked out!

{Before and After} A Master Bedroom E-Design Project

April 16, 2013 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, design, e-decorating, e-design, personal design style

As I’ve said before, I love getting after shots of completed e-design projects. These pictures are great to share, since this room is already so beautiful to begin with. This e-design client was looking to add some texture and pattern to her master bedroom. She already had all of the main furniture pieces. I just came in to help add some fun accessories. Here is her space before…

Before…

First, we added some driftwood art for the wall space above the bed. I originally posted about that part of the room here. The art took us in a coastal, masculine, rustic, chic direction, which is a great style for a master bedroom retreat. Here are the afters…

After…

My client is so happy with the space and I love the calm, serene feel the new accessories bring. She did a great job bringing the design vision together. The ottomans beside the dresser are so versatile… when my client wants a change, she can easily move them to the foot of the bed or use them as foot rests with her ikat chairs. I actually cannot take any credit for the last image (ikat chairs vignette). My client already had the ikat chairs and shell and they made the tree stump table themselves! I love the texture it brings to the room. She did a great job taking the pictures, because the mirrors above the dresser beautifully reflects the other side of the room. Thanks so much to my client for allowing me to share these pictures!

{E-Design Before and After} The Basement

April 11, 2013 by Amber Filed Under: before and after, design, e-decorating, e-design

You are all in for a treat today! I have the most amazing clients ever and was happily surprised to see loads of after photos in my inbox this week! First up, I will show some beautiful pictures of a basement e-design I worked on over the winter. This client has done a tremendous job putting her spaces together and she has been such a joy to work with. Her basement is a great space and gets loads of natural light. Since the basement is such a large space, I will show just the bar/seating area today. Before contacting me, they already had plans to add a bar to this side of the basement. My client had great ideas for this zone and we worked together to select the bar stools and paint color for the bar. I also helped add some color and finishing touches to give the rooms a modern edge. Here are some before shots of the space…

Before

The existing pillows on her sofa {from the other side of the basement} had pretty shades of blue, orange and green, so I wanted to carry that color scheme into the rest of the basement. Here is the design board I came up with…

The Plan

We made minor adjustments here and there but kept the overall concept the same. There are pieces from this design board that you will see later, since I am only focusing on the bar/seating area today.

So without further adieu, here are the afters…

After

I am so excited for this client! She has done a wonderful job putting it all together. The contractors building the bar also made this space shine! I love the way it turned out, and I’m pretty sure my clients love it too!  ๐Ÿ™‚ To see my last post about this project with progress photos, go here.
