A Unique, Creative Door

June 20, 2013 by Amber Filed Under: barn door, barn door hardware, design, personal design style 8 Comments

There are some design ideas that stop me in my tracks. I love a great wow factor in any space and you’re in for a treat today with this idea. Forget about the rule that you need a standard door for every room’s entrance or that you can only have curtains/closet doors to close off storage spaces. Installing a barn door to any room is such a fresh, unique way to separate spaces and close off unsitely areas in your home. I have been racking my brain trying to think of where I can install barn door hardware in my own home. So here’s some beautiful inspiration to get me started…

Barn doors work with modern, rustic and traditional spaces and definitely add that wow factor. Whether they are bright and add a pop of color or whether they blend in with your space, installing a barn door is a genious idea! Where would you put one in your home??

Ashli and Lee (Mini Manor) built one from scratch and used it in their dining room. Is is beautiful!! I would love to exchange my boring double doors in my dining room to these.

We have an open floor plan so finding a barn door location is difficult, but I love it! I could use some overlapping doors over my backdoor sliders instead of blinds, right?

Who would have thought that a barn door can be this stylish? Everything looks great! Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will look lovely. Anyway, barn doors are huge. If you pursue having this door, I hope you have good team of contractors to install it for you. Doug @ CustomHomeImprovements.com

Now that the ladder has been relocated to the family room, this corner is definitely in need of some height. I almost went with the idea of a tree and while I love it in other homes, I just didn’t see it here. So I went on Pinterest in search of inspiration and @studiomcgee to the rescue! I love the idea of a pedestal with a vase and maybe some branches, instead of a tree. I can switch up the accessories on the pedestal and I think it’s the winner! Inspiration in the next slide. #amberbdesignathome #coastalliving

This year, we had it to the left of the television and I really feel like that space is now so empty. I tried the living room ladder in its place and I love it! But the living room needs it there too. What to do?! Maybe a tall plant in one of the spaces?! Two ladders within feet of each other?! 😂 #amberbdesignathome #coastalliving #howyouhome #SMmakelifebeautiful #loveyourhabitat #bhghome
