Check Out This Painted Backsplash!

March 7, 2013 by Amber Filed Under: painting a tile backsplash, painting ceramic tile, painting grout 12 Comments

I would love to share an update about my painted backsplash… I have scrubbed it, cleaned it with kitchen cleaner and splattered sauce and oil on it- and it still looks as good as when I started! If you are living with tile that is not your favorite color or is covered in a design you don’t like… paint it! I was ecstatic to receive an e-mail from Lindsay, who writes the blog Living, Laughing & Loving. She had beige tile in her kitchen that she didn’t like from the beginning. She writes in her blog that while they were signing the papers with the realtor for the house, all she could look at was the beige backsplash! I am happy to announce that she has painted her tile white, and it looks amazing! Here is the before…

I love how this project looks nothing like paint- it truly looks like a newly tiled backsplash! To see how she completed this project and the materials she used, visit her post HERE. I’m so glad she went for it!

I was so happy to come across Lindsay’s blog. She has a beautiful home and the photos from her wedding are amazing! Here’s a little glimpse into what you’ll see over on her blog…

What an improvement! And so good to know that your painted tile is holding up well. This is such a great, low-cost way to update a kitchen.

    I love this idea.
    After the priming what texture
    Paint was used? Semi-gloss?
I have an ugly yellow back splash with a black border that looks hideous .

Hi James. I do not recall which materials she used for her tile. But I also did this project and here is the link to my post:

Now that the ladder has been relocated to the family room, this corner is definitely in need of some height. I almost went with the idea of a tree and while I love it in other homes, I just didn’t see it here. So I went on Pinterest in search of inspiration and @studiomcgee to the rescue! I love the idea of a pedestal with a vase and maybe some branches, instead of a tree. I can switch up the accessories on the pedestal and I think it’s the winner! This year, we had it to the left of the television and I really feel like that space is now so empty. I tried the living room ladder in its place and I love it! But the living room needs it there too. What to do?! Maybe a tall plant in one of the spaces?! Two ladders within feet of each other?! 😂 #amberbdesignathome #coastalliving #howyouhome #SMmakelifebeautiful #loveyourhabitat #bhghome
