Writer’s Block

October 28, 2012 by Amber Filed Under: blogging, design Leave a Comment

I am sure that if you have been blogging for a while, you come across times when you stare at the screen and wonder what to write. Well, at least I hope you do, and I’m not the only one! 🙂 I get to the computer, hoping to write something compelling and worth commenting about, and then- I draw a blank. Or either, I have a great idea, without the time to execute a well written post. Ever happened to you?? I don’t want to write something that is just thrown together, because you are all savvy readers and know when I am just faking the funk. So, I thought some time spent away to gather my thoughts would be a good idea. I am busy in a good way, gathering inspiration for clients and just busy with day to day life, as we all are. If I am not here as often, don’t think it’s because I don’t want to be! I truly love blogging and it will always be something I am a part of. Now with that out of the way, let’s get to some beautiful inspiration images that show glimpses into ideas I have been working on!

Hi Amber, I attended a small panel group of designers/bloggers a few months ago. It was everyone's advice that if you have nothing to say then don't write! It is much better to wait until you can write something worthwhile than just blog to blog! You are doing the correct thing.
Love the spaces you have been working. Fabulous design!

I've been hit hard by writer's block lately. I'd much rather read other people's blogs than spend time on my own! I'm sure that will pass with time. Hang in there!

I love that gallery in the stairwell…stunning! I think taking time to recharge and gather inspiration is the right thing to do! I can relate…I just had my third kiddo and have been too tired to pull my creative ideas together! Your post came at the perfect time for me! It is nice to hear that others go through it too!

I went through like a 3 month funk! I think I'm finally back though. My kids have been having health problems and my husband got a promotion with a huge workload and my family needed a lot more of me. Add clients and I had nothing left to give. I'm glad I'm not the only one 🙂

It looks like you are working on beautiful things. The gallery wall is gorgeous and I cannot wait to see the room inspired by that leopard room!

First things first…..those images are fabulous. Next…..I suffer from that all the time. It can be tough when I don't have a project, or any thing new in my own home to post about. I can just sit and stare at that screen for 30 min and then I just get up and say screw it. I do feel that you just have to wait until the spirit move you!!!

Since I post everyday I feel the pressure to come up with something and then regret it when I throw something lame together. Kate at Centsational Girl did a post once '50 things to blog about.' It's a great resource for ideas.

Blogging is HARD, and time-consuming (we all know that), but we do it because we love it. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to post much at all, but I've become perfectly content with not posting unless it's something I deem important and post-worthy. You'll be back in the swing and get into a routine that works for you.
