Color Palette Crush

June 5, 2012 by Amber Filed Under: coral, design

You know the saying A home is never finished…

For me, that will forever be a quote to live by, because I always fall in love with new things! I just shouldn’t walk into homegoods anymore. I come out with way too many new ideas. In our living and dining rooms, our current color palette is soft golds and creams, deep browns and blue grays. After a recent trip to homegoods, I want to add one more color… coral! This bright burst of color would look amazing against grays, golds and browns and would be a great summer edition! I can picture it now-

I already have these similar (or exact) colors in our two rooms, but lacking the second color at the moment. These paint samples are all from Benjamin Moore and are as follows: Titanium, Golden Gate, Decatur Buff and Mink. Our living room is painted Mink, and our dining room is similar to Decatur Buff. Our throw pillows on the dining chairs are a similar color to Titanium. I started on this coral tangent when I saw a coral table runner in a linen fabric. Then, I started to see beautiful pillows with all of these colors in them, and I started to go crazy with ideas! I started to imagine a new wall color, pillows and a table runner. Somebody stop me!! Here are some great examples of this color combination:

And a little dining room update to share… our rug is no longer there, and we love the look without one! More updated photos to come and a shout out to my blog friend Holly for the idea!  ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s your current color palette crush???

Coral in the Dining Room!

July 25, 2011 by Amber Filed Under: coral

In previous posts here and here I spoke about my love for coral in any space! I think it’s a great way to bring some summer chic into your home. Well… my mom is a faithful reader to this blog and these posts gave her ideas for my birthday gift this year! (Thanks so much, mom!) Every year around birthday time, I always try and get hints for my gifts (I’ve done this forever, so it seems to be more of a tradition now!) So she told me, One of your blog posts gave me the idea for your gift this year! Hmmmm….. I couldn’t think of what it was! When I opened this year’s present, I knew exactly what she meant! This unique, beautiful coral can go just about anywhere, in any room. Currently, it resides on our dining table. Now, I can see it all the time, and it makes me smile.

Coral on the Porch

June 27, 2011 by Amber Filed Under: coral

In a previous post here, I talk about my love for coral. I received a great comment from a reader, saying she just found some pretty coral pillows for an amazing deal and they proudly sit out on her porch! I was so excited to see her finds, that I asked her to send over some pictures. It turns out, she has recently started a blog and decided to post about her porch finds here. Her name is Melissa, and her blog is The Happier Homemaker. Here are the coral pillows and pretty porch:

I love these pillows! She found them at Steinmart’s for $12 each!! The rest of her accessories also give the porch a fun summer look. You can read more about her porch here on her blog. Stop over and say hi! And thanks Melissa, for leaving your comment and sharing your beautiful porch.

What great deals have you found lately?

Having a Thing for Coral

June 23, 2011 by Amber Filed Under: beach, coral

Maybe it’s because we just got back from the beach, or maybe it’s because summer is just beginning, but I am definitely loving the look of coral in a room. As an accessory on a table, on a pillow, lamp or rug- coral always seems to catch my eye these days. I am drawn to the chic, subtle way coral can add a coastal touch to a room and it can be used in so many ways. Here are some of my favorite ways I have seen coral lately-
