In the spring, I am excited that we will be sprucing up our master bathroom a bit! We are going to replace the counter, retile the shower, repaint the walls, and maybe replace the flooring. Good stuff- I cannot wait! We are definitely going with white subway tile in the shower, but the dilemma is the grout color! Do we go with a classic white, or switch it up and go with a dark gray/black grout? I love both looks! I recently saw on Million Dollar Decorators that one of the designers chose a dark grout for the shower he was renovating and said, the dark grout gives it a more masculine feel. That’s fine with me, because I can always compliment that with some crystal accessories and shiny chrome, to glam it up for me! It could be a nice balance for us. Then again, I am drawn to the white grout, because of it’s classic look. You can never go wrong with that timeless look. What’s a girl to do? (My husband doesn’t mind and left this detail up to me!) Now to ponder a bit more, we also plan to use the same white subway tile in our kitchen (down the road). Back to the same question again- white or dark gray/black grout? laughing that I am like a year late commenting on this post. haha. But I was searching online for grout colors for subway tiles and this post came up! 😉 Anyway, what did yall end up doing? We are re-doing our grout in the kitchen right now and I am debating bt light gray or white. Ugh…so hard to decide!
I'm using white subway tile with either white or beige grout, which goes with the vanity top. Leaning toward the white. But for shower pan, using unglazed almond tiles and wondering if I should grout with white for a bit of contrast or beige for a darker tone than the almond?
We just finished our bathroom with bevelled subway tile with Silverado Gray grout. It looks great but was darker than we hoped. The alternative was white grout, which we have used in our kitchen. Both look great. We have been warned though that the white grout can look a little bit yellow next to white glossy tile
I am thinking of white grout coloring in bathroom. But I have heard about that it may get yellow stains, So could you suggest me any alternate as I am willing to have bright color like white.

I agree that the dark grout is more practical. Personally, I think I prefer the white though; it's a little more seamless and subtle, whereas the black grout makes it more of a graphic statement.

If you were to ask me, I would choose the dark grey color, for that classic look. But if you want a white-themed kitchen, your grout has to be white as well. Though you could probably experiment with different contrasts of white, if it comes to that. Anyway, I’m curious on how the project went. Any updates?
